About Us


The Essex PA Network (formerly called NESS) was established in 2016 to bring together support staff across Essex including PAs, Executive Assistants, Virtual Assistants and Administrators. We welcome visitors to our regular events through which we hope to promote the profiles of these roles, help people make connections and help to nurture their careers. 

Julia Robertson-Avenell, FEPAA, FInstAM

Co-Founder of Essex PA Network and Contractor Relationship Manager at Hays Life Sciences


Julia has been an Administration Manager and PA for over 20 years within the sales industry supporting sales teams and directors across the UK. She has a passion for development, training and mentoring and is Co-Founder of Essex PA network.  During her career she has received a number of awards and more recently was shortlisted in the We Are The City awards in the sales category.

Francisca Kozijn

Committee Member of Essex PA Network; Senior Operations Manager/Project Manager


Francisca originally came to London for work experience from The Netherlands. During her 4-week stay she was headhunted to join a small Dutch solicitors’ office as the Executive Assistant/Office Manager. More than 21 years later she still works in London and has been living in Essex ever since! Having always combined her Executive Assistant skills with Office Management, Francisca currently works as the Office Manager at an asset management company in the City and is an advocate of  self-development, cultural diversity and mental health issues.

Tanya Kuhrt

Committe Member of Essex PA Network; Executive Assistant and Office Manager


Tanya became a freelance Virtual Assistant in 2012 and was delighted to win the Best Newcomer Award at the BeMyVA Conference and Awards in 2014. Working freelance allowed her to work flexible hours around her family commitments but In 2018, her daughter finished school and Tanya decided to go back to employment as an Executive Assistant/Office Manager in London. She is now thrilled to be working  in a rewarding and challenging at a biomedical research company focused on developing vaccination and cancer immunotherapy solutions.

Karen Glenn, FEPAA

Co-Founder of Essex PA Network and Award-Winning Executive Assistant at Colt Data Centre Services


Karen has been a PA since 2000, is extremely passionate about the role, actively encouraging and promoting it as a truly fantastic career choice. She enjoys networking and sharing knowledge along with supporting others starting on their career journeys, helping them to grow. Karen won the We Are The City Rising Star PA/EA Award in 2016 and was runner-up in Executive PA Magazine's Best Organised Event in 2015. In addition to being the co-founder of Essex PA Network she is also a Fellows member of EPAA.
